The Meaning of Coaching

 

In order to understand better this service proposal, it is essential to understand the coaching process. As a definition, coaching is a process of exchange between coach and coachee where tools and techniques will be used to motivate and help the coachee to find the best way to go from where he/she is in the present moment to he/she wants to be, enhancing his/her potential and achieve the desired results through their own resources.

The intention is to be able to modify something that would improve your life in a conscious and planned way, promoting learning and continuous development. So, the process is focused on the client and the respective action plan, providing client’s awareness, support and feedback as well as personal discovery.

Emotional Coaching

It is a process that helps emotional aspects and their impact on personal and professional behaviour, for example:

  • Treatment of blockages and impediments to reach action effectiveness;
  • Unblocking the use of personal resources;
  • Strengthening the psycho-emotional structure;
  • Alignment of internal processes to achieve personal goals;

Coaching techniques are related to Psychology with emphasis on NLP – Neurolinguistic Programming, which is a study of patterns created by the interaction between the brain (neuro – mind), language (linguistics – feelings) and body. In addition, NLP studies the human being and his functioning that is how we create our thoughts, feelings, emotional states and behaviors as well as how we can optimise our lives with a view to achieve individual purposes. Finally, NLP is based on the assumption that all behavior has a strategy and it can be discovered, modeled and changed (reprogrammed).

Business Coaching

It is a process that promotes personal motivation and renewal, freeing yourself from any kind of problems and fears. The aim is to perform in enterprises and in their core team, solving interpersonal conflicts as well as improving their self-esteem. Therefore, coaching can be useful for individuals and companies, promoting significant changes in leadership development, teams, and organisational productivity.

Business Coaching involves two areas of activity:

Business Effectiveness: The coach performs strategies and activities to solve organisational issues, such as high turnover rates, absenteeism, employee dissatisfaction and many others. Thus, coaching adjusts work environment, aligning positions, tasks and departments in order to raise corporate performance and profitability.

Personal Effectiveness: The coach supports each professional and their personal difficulties that may compromise organisational development. Moreover, the coach  encourages leaders to seek new solutions, inspiring new work patterns among people in a team as well as empowering them, which will positively reflect on business effectiveness and thus customer satisfaction.
